My yoga journey started in July 2009 when finally my body simply said no more! I was playing Senior Hockey here in WA and my lower back and knees were in a bad way. I saw an editorial in the West Australian one Saturday and saw the write up on Bikram Yoga and the new studio that had opened in Perth. I decided to go try a class and was hooked after 3 or 4 classes, albeit my body complaining along the way but feeling better every day. 3 months later I could not believe the change. I continued to practice on and off for a year or so, but got serious about my practice at the end of 2010 and then decided I wanted to go do the teacher training.

I finally went to Teacher Training in Spring 2014 and have been teaching full time since returning at the beginning of July 2014. I am loving this change in life so far as I also wanted a change of career in the process. I worked in Sales and Marketing jobs for most of my career. I look forward expanding my skills as a yoga teacher and learning more about how yoga can transform people’s lives as it did mine.

When you are not extending, bending and sweating what do you like to do?

I love to spend time with my husband and my two beautiful boys, who are all grown up now, the youngest just turned 21! My husband and I both love yoga and the beach and our favourite thing to do is to practice yoga and then go to the beach for a swim.

My favourite colour is purple.

When students walk out of my class I hope they feel…. energised and ready to take on the world and leave with something new, something they didn’t know before they came.
